About the Presenter: Kirk Hoopingarner is a partner at the law firm Quarles & Brady LLP. His practice has focused on trust and estate administration, wealth planning and philanthropy. Kirk is currently serving on the editorial board of Planned Giving Today and has contributed several articles. He has also contributed extensively to Strategic Philanthropy's Charitable Planning Desk Reference. He is currently co-teaching a master’s course in tax-exempt organizations for Northwestern University Law School. He is also a fellow with the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel where he serves on the charitable planning committee.
Kirk has held many leadership roles in philanthropy, including Board Chair of McGaw YMCA of Evanston, President of the Corporate Responsibility Group of Greater Chicago, Board Chair of the Evanston Community Foundation, and President of the Evanston Township High School Foundation. He currently serves on professional advisor groups for the American Endowment Foundation, the Robert and Ann Lurie Children's Memorial Foundation, and the Lincoln Park Zoo.
